1. Introduction
Welcome to Cleanbook. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our cleaning services platform.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Data
When you create an account, we collect the following information:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Password (securely encrypted)
2.2 Cleaner Profile Data
If you register as a cleaner, we additionally collect:
- Service areas and geographic coverage

2.3 Property Data
When you add properties to your account, we collect:
- Property addresses
- Property details (square footage, number of bedrooms and bathrooms)
- Property photos
2.4 Payment Information
Cleanbook collects limited payment information only for subscription billing — the monthly or annual listing fee paid by cleaning professionals to Cleanbook. This payment data is collected and processed by our payment processor, Stripe, under Stripe's own privacy policy. Cleanbook does not store full payment card numbers on its own servers.
Cleanbook does not collect, process, or store payment card data in connection with any service arranged through the platform. All payments between consumers and cleaning professionals are made directly between those parties, off-platform. Cleanbook is not a party to those transactions and receives no portion of service payments.
2.5 Service Data
As you use the platform, we collect information about your service activity:
- Appointment and cleaning history
- Cleaning verification photos
- Ratings and reviews
2.6 Hosting Provider Data
For B2B users who connect hosting provider integrations, we may access:
- Reservation data from Guesty, Lodgify, and other connected hosting providers
- Property listings and availability
2.7 Technical Data
We automatically collect certain technical information when you access Cleanbook:
- IP addresses
- Browser type and version
- Device information
- Access times and dates
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- Provide and manage cleaning services for both B2B and marketplace operations
- Match cleaners with available cleaning jobs
- Process payments and payouts via Stripe Connect
- Send transactional emails (confirmations, reminders, updates)
- Synchronize reservations from connected hosting providers
- Detect and prevent fraud and unauthorized activity
- Comply with legal obligations and regulatory requirements
4. Information Shared Between Parties
To facilitate cleaning services, limited information is shared between parties:
- Cleaners can see the property address and details when they claim a marketplace job
- Customers can see the cleaner's name and public profile information
- In business mode, cleaners can see assigned properties and their details
We share only the minimum information necessary for service delivery
5. Cleaner Information Usage & Privacy
To facilitate business roster management, the following rules govern how businesses may discover and invite cleaners:
- Businesses may use your exact email address to find your account and invite you to their roster, provided you have already shared your email with that business
- The same applies to phone number — businesses may use your exact phone number to find your account if you have already provided it to them
- Businesses cannot use your email to discover your phone number or vice versa — they can only see contact information they already have
- Businesses may see your full name if you are a registered cleaner and they have either your phone number or email address
Account discoverability via exact contact information is required for platform functionality and cannot be opted out of. This ensures businesses can invite cleaners without creating duplicate accounts.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
- Stripe / Stripe Connect — payment processing, identity verification, and payouts
- Secure authentication service provider — user authentication
- Mandrill — transactional email delivery
- Guesty, Lodgify, and other supported hosting providers — reservation synchronization (B2B users only)
- Cloud storage provider — photo storage
- Cloud hosting provider — hosting and database services
- Law enforcement agencies when required by applicable law
7. Data Storage & Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:
- All data transmitted via HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Database with encryption at rest
- Stripe handles all card data (PCI DSS compliant)
- Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel only
8. Data Retention
- Account data is deleted immediately upon successful account deletion
- Service history and records are retained for 2 years. When a business account is deleted, associated service records (emails, payments) are deleted immediately and not subject to the 2-year retention period.
- Photos are deleted upon account deletion
- Financial records are retained as required by applicable law and tax regulations
